Ion Tiger is an American multi-purpose unmanned aerial vehicle of experimental type, developed by specialists of the US Navy Research Laboratory.

The Ion Tiger unmanned aerial vehicle is oriented to military applications, however, to date, this device is positioned as an experimental aircraft, which means that the drone has not yet been put into mass production. Ion Tiger is designed for reconnaissance, observation, monitoring and patrol missions, aerial photography, monitoring the movement of enemy forces, correcting artillery fire, etc. An important distinguishing feature of this dron is its ability to fly for up to 48 hours, which significantly increases the operational efficiency of the UAV.

The American Ion Tiger unmanned aerial vehicle was designed by specialists from the US Navy Research Laboratory in an airplane-type configuration, while the device, though it has a very large wingspan, does not normally have problems with the operation of the drone. Due to the lack of its own chassis system, the launch of the aircraft is performed using a special catapulting device.

The Ion Tiger unmanned aerial vehicle is equipped with a single electric engine that is capable of accelerating the aircraft to the maximum speed of flight at 100 km / h, with an effective range of flight at 250 kilometers, which is quite acceptable.
