Developments light multipurpose aircraft Jodel D.11 begun by French engineers in the postwar period, with the main reason was the need to create a suitable aircraft for private use and for the training of future pilots, in which, at the end of 40-ies in France tested obvious deficiency.

Designing aircraft Jodel D.11 conducted on the basis of other, earlier model Jodel D.9, however, French experts largely improved the structure of the aircraft, increasing its flight performance and operational use, in particular, the plane could be used as individuals for their own goals and objectives, and the flying school for the above identified problems of pilot training.

Aircraft Jodel D.11 has a fairly compact size, which in turn allows you to take on board no more than two people or the same amount of cargo in terms of weight, however, due to the compact design, the aircraft has high maneuverability, which in some situations allows you to use it and as a sports aircraft. One of the main improvements of the aircraft from the French aviation engineers was the increased maximum flight distance, which is of the base version of the aircraft of the order of 900 kilometers, and of the order of 1300 kilometers of subsequent modifications.

The Jodel D.11 aircraft uses a piston powerplant, which, depending on the modification, is a Continental O-200 aircraft engine, whose working cylinders are capable of developing thrust in the 100 hp. The aircraft is capable of maximum flight speed in 210 km / h. (depending on the modification), and is very reliable in terms of its operation.
