Developments light multipurpose aircraft Jodel D.11 begun by French engineers in the postwar period, with the main reason was the need to create a suitable aircraft for private use and for the training of future pilots, in which, at the end of 40-ies in France tested obvious deficiency.

Designing aircraft Jodel D.11 conducted on the basis of other, earlier model Jodel D.9, however, French experts largely improved the structure of the aircraft, increasing its flight performance and operational use, in particular, the plane could be used as individuals for their own goals and objectives, and the flying school for the above identified problems of pilot training.

The Jodel D.11 aircraft has a fairly compact size, which in turn allows it to take on board no more than two people or an equivalent amount of cargo, however, due to its compact design, the aircraft has high maneuverability properties, which in some situations allows it to be used and as a sports aircraft. One of the main improvements of the aircraft from the French aviation engineers was the increased maximum flight distance, which is about 900 kilometers for the basic version of the aircraft, and about 1300 kilometers for subsequent modifications.

The Jodel D.11 aircraft uses a piston power plant represented, depending on the modification, by the Continental O-200 aircraft engine, the working cylinders of which are capable of developing 100 hp of thrust. The aircraft is capable of developing a maximum flight speed of 210 km / h. (depending on the modification), and is very reliable in terms of its operation.
