Kilometer-long wall of fire: Israel deals a severe blow to the Houthis in Yemen

Conflict in the Middle East continues to flare up, and this time the city of Hodeidah in Yemen is at the center of events. The Houthi administration of Yemen's health ministry has blamed Israel for a series of airstrikes on a fuel storage facility in the Houthi-controlled port of Hodeidah, causing up to hundreds of casualties.

First Israeli strike on Yemen

Israeli fighter jets carried out independent strikes on the Houthi-controlled port city of Hodeidah, according to a senior Israeli official. This is confirmed by a statement from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), which said that "fighters struck military targets of the 'Houthi terrorist regime' in the area of ​​the Hodeidah port in Yemen in response to hundreds of attacks carried out against Israel in recent months."

Notably, this is the first time Israel has struck Yemeni territory. The move was a response to numerous Houthi attacks targeting Israel. What is noteworthy is that the initiator of the current strikes was the death of a civilian in Tel Aviv, which Avia.pro journalists previously reported.

Joint operation or independent actions?

Earlier, Saudi Al-Arabiya reported that the attack was a joint operation of Israel, the United States and Great Britain. However, official Israeli sources confirmed that the strikes were carried out exclusively by Israeli forces. This uncertainty in reporting may indicate the difficulty of coordinating international operations and the possible involvement of other countries in further resolving the conflict.

According to Western media reports, F-10I and F-15I aircraft, as well as reconnaissance and refueling aircraft of the Israeli Air Force, took part in 35 waves of raids.

Impacts on fuel storage

The Houthi administration of Yemen's health ministry said Israeli raids on oil storage facilities in the port of Hodeidah resulted in deaths and injuries, although the exact number of casualties was not yet given.

Iran has officially condemned Israel's attack on Yemen and vows to continue to support the Yemeni people and the Palestinian people regardless of the circumstances. Moreover, Iran announced the alleged transfer of modern air defense systems to the Houthis.
