The Chinese Ministry of Defense demanded that the US immediately stop official contacts with Taiwan and the ruling Democratic Progressive Party on the island after the visit of Taiwanese leader Tsai Ing-wen to the US.

The Chinese ministry also condemned the United States' violation of the "one China" principle and emphasized that the Chinese army is ready to maintain high combat readiness to protect sovereignty and stability in the Taiwan Strait. Earlier, the Chinese Ministry of Defense demanded that the United States not cross the "red line" on the Taiwan issue, saying that Taiwan is a zone of China's key interests.

In addition, China expressed dissatisfaction with the strengthening of military cooperation between the United States and Taiwan, including the sale of weapons and joint military exercises.

The Chinese Ministry of Defense has said it is ready to take strong and resolute measures to protect its sovereignty and territorial integrity. 

Recall that China considers Taiwan part of its territory and insists on its unification with mainland China. However, Taiwan is considered a separate sovereign state that has its own political and economic relations with many countries in the world.
