NAIS-2026: High-tech bitumen for airfield pavements

At the National Infrastructure Salon NAIS-2026 in Moscow, Russian companies showcased cutting-edge solutions for developing the aviation industry and modernizing airport infrastructure.
Gazpromneft-Bitumen Materials (operator of Gazprom Neft's bitumen business) presented a line of products for the construction, repair, and maintenance of airfield pavements. Bitumen-derived materials are used in civil aviation projects and are adapted for use in various climatic conditions, including those of the Far North and the Far East. "We share a common commitment with the aviation industry to improving the efficiency of airfield infrastructure operations. We are investing our scientific and production resources in this area," emphasized Stanislav Ovchinnikov, CEO of Gazpromneft-Bitumen Materials.

As part of the business program, experts from Gazpromneft-Aero (Gazprom Neft's aviation fuel operator) presented the results of bench tests of Gazprom Neft's first Russian environmentally friendly aviation biofuel. The study confirmed the fuel's stable performance under key operating conditions and its potential to minimize aviation's environmental impact. "Today, our company services more than 96 airports across the country—from Kaliningrad to Chukotka. This scale of presence allows us to participate in the development of airfield infrastructure and offer the industry technological solutions that are in demand at both major air hubs and remote regions," noted Vladimir Egorov, CEO of Gazpromneft-Aero.

In 2026, NAIS brought together key players in the aviation industry: representatives of airports, air carriers, the scientific community, and regulatory agencies. Over the course of its existence, the exhibition attracted over 10 visitors, and over 200 companies showcased their developments.
