Novik-XXI Century Grant Tactical UAVs

Grant (Civil aerodynamic observer TV) - a complex of UAV, the development of which was carried out in 2000-2001 years. The initiators of this complex are:

  • Kyshtymsky radio factory, headed by director Vladimir Markin

  • SPC "Novik", headed by Chief Designer Chistyakov NV

  • Center interspecies unmanned aircraft, led by the commander of the structure GI Bebeshko

According to the idea, the Grant complex was developed as an alternative to the "Stroy-P" complex, which was equipped with the "Bee" UAV. During the development of other analogues, observations of the battlefield in Russia were not. NVChistyakov, the chief designer of the developed complex, took the job, who before that had successfully developed and put into service the "Stroy-P" complex with the "Bee" UAV. The chief designer had the opportunity to take into account all the shortcomings of the previous generation complex and create one that would exceed the predecessor in all quality parameters.

The main error in the UAV "Bee" was in a big expensive during operation. Depreciation manned aircraft were much smaller.

Therefore, when creating a UAV Grant was originally a bet on low-cost production and operation. To achieve this, it was necessary to reduce the weight of the UAV, as well as use it the serial components and modern technologies that are mastered in aircraft modeling.

Safety device was raised by eliminating the configuration setting UAV parachute, which during the landing does not guarantee a successful landing. Planting Grant UAV performed on an aircraft. Savings in the operation of the complex can be traced in all - transport base are the cheapest SUVs - "UAZ".

The complex has a grant:

  • Automated base station (BARS) car UAZ-3741 or equivalent;

  • Freight launcher (TPU) on the car UAZ-3303 or equivalent;

  • RPV Grant (one TPU can be equipped with two containers with RPV grants).

At the beginning of the creation, the Grant complex was positioned as a television observer in real time. To fulfill its main task, it was to be equipped with infrared and television cameras. However, in fact, IR cameras were very expensive, and limited only to the installation of television cameras. Simplification of the target load was achieved by the rejection of the standard variofocal optics and dome suspension of television cameras. To increase the detail of the TV image, we used the unique method of "TRAL Chistyakov", which is based on the motion of the UAV. The device sequentially looks at the underlying surface for the purpose of three TV cameras: narrow, medium and wide-angle.

Already at the initial stage of designing complex designers it became clear that one operator would not be able to independently evaluate the image obtained in real time. Therefore, the base control station equipped with two seats for operators with computers.

One freight launcher complex Grant can be made simultaneously transport two UAVs, as well as perform prelaunch, preflight preparation and launch of RPV. For energy used to run the split weights gross weight kg 230. This solution helped to rid the complex from the use of gunpowder, which is not appropriate to civilian life.

DPLA Grant is an aircraft made according to the normal aircraft layout with a T-shaped tail assembly and a high wing. The power plant is represented by a two-cylinder boxer engine, which uses a mixture of motor gasoline and synthetic oil as fuel.
