According to several sources, the cause of the explosion could be an attack by unmanned aerial vehicles, however, according to Syrian media, the reason for the explosions was the improper storage of ammunition.

Due to the lack of official comments from the representatives of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, the data regarding a series of powerful explosions differ from each other. According to some sources, we are talking about the detonation of several dozen shells, according to others - hundreds, however, the publication "Ebaa News" reports that in reality, we are talking about almost 6000 ammunition.

It is reported that as a result of the explosions, a Russian high-ranking officer was killed, and at least 40 of Syrian and Russian troops were injured in various ways.
