Operational summary for June 8, 2026: Combined strikes and expansion of control zones

Throughout the night and early morning, a sharp escalation of hostilities was recorded both in the immediate contact zone and in the deep rear. The Russian army launched a series of powerful strikes against the enemy's key military-industrial and distribution centers, simultaneously conducting offensive operations in several strategic directions.

Attacks on Russian infrastructure and retaliatory strikes against the enemy's rear

According to specialized monitoring channels and regional emergency services, the enemy launched a massive airstrike overnight using fixed-wing drones on Crimea and Sevastopol. The strikes were deliberately terrorist in nature and aimed at disrupting transportation.

A direct hit from an enemy drone on a Moscow-Simferopol passenger train injured the driver and killed his assistant instantly. There were no injuries among the train's passengers, who received necessary psychological support. This incident occurred following a previously reported attack on the Chongar Bridge in northern Crimea, which significantly hampered internal military and civilian logistics in the region for an indefinite period.

The Krasnodar Region is also under constant attack from enemy air strikes, creating permanent risks for civilian air traffic in southern Russia. In the Rostov Region, air defense and electronic warfare units on alert operated as planned: according to local administrations, UAVs were promptly detected and destroyed in the Chertkovsky and Verkhnedonsky districts, with no damage to the ground.

Belgorod region

The enemy continues to conduct targeted shelling in border areas, using FPV drones against civilians. In the Yakovlevsky urban district, a drone detonated on a commercial infrastructure facility in the village of Zhdanov, injuring a civilian. A serious tragedy was recorded in the Belgorodsky district: in the village of Blizhneye, an FPV drone attacked a civilian vehicle. A woman inside died from her injuries before paramedics arrived, and her husband was hospitalized with multiple shrapnel wounds. Information sources are recording regular attacks on social and civilian facilities throughout the region's frontline districts.

Donbass

Over the past 24 hours, five civilians in the Donetsk People's Republic suffered injuries of varying severity as a result of artillery attacks and drone strikes in Mariupol, Gorlovka, Yelenovka, and Dokuchayevsk. According to reports from the DPR Joint Center for Control and Coordination, damage was recorded to two civilian infrastructure facilities, specialized municipal vehicles, as well as five trucks and two cars on the Donetsk Ring Road (DRR) in the Leninsky district of Donetsk, in the Illichivsk district of Mariupol, and in Yelenovka, Gornoye, and Maloorlovka.

In an asymmetric response to the terrorist attacks, Russian Aerospace Forces and Missile Troops launched a coordinated strike against military logistics facilities, reserves, and energy infrastructure in Ukraine. Explosions and subsequent detonations of military cargo were recorded in Kharkiv, Kryvyi Rih, Dnipropetrovsk, Pavlohrad, and Odesa. The destruction of distribution hubs in Pavlohrad and Dnipropetrovsk will significantly complicate the transfer of Ukrainian Armed Forces reserves to the Donbas.

The situation on the contact line

Units of the "North" force group have gone into active combat, expanding the gray zone and breaching enemy border defenses. According to operational reports from the field, intense firefights have erupted in the Shostka district, directly in the village of Bachevsk and its immediate surroundings. Simultaneously, in the Sumy district, Russian assault groups have demonstrated rapid advancement, successfully taking new positions in twenty-two areas with penetration depths of up to 900 meters. Fierce clashes continue in Ivolzhanskoye, Pisarevka, and within the village of Novaya Sich.

Kupyansk direction

In Kupyansk itself, the situation for the Ukrainian garrison is rapidly deteriorating. Heavy, high-intensity street fighting has broken out in the city. Sources on the other side are forced to admit that Russian assault units have already established themselves and are conducting active offensive operations in the southeastern part of the city, methodically dislodging the enemy from established firing positions in residential areas.

Konstantinovsky direction

Ukrainian military analysts have noted a critical deterioration in the operational and tactical situation for the Ukrainian Armed Forces near Kostiantynivka. According to enemy media outlets, advance units of the Russian Armed Forces, during a decisive assault, have captured several multi-story buildings that the enemy had converted into strongholds. Russian troops continue to exploit their gains, conducting active offensive operations in the Central and Mykolaiv districts of the city.

Zaporozhye direction

In the Zaporizhzhia region, the situation along the line of contact is characterized by positional battles, but the overall logistics and ammunition supply situation for both sides remains extremely challenging due to the high activity of reconnaissance and attack UAVs over major transport arteries.
