Only scrap metal remains: Russia destroyed another battery of the Patriot air defense system in the Northern Military District
The Russian army continues intensive air operations to destroy Ukrainian Air Force airfields and air defense complexes. This strategic direction has become a key element in the current conflict, the purpose of which is to undermine the capabilities of the Ukrainian army in the field of air defense and reduce its combat effectiveness.
Recent successes of the Russian army
One of the latest examples of successful operations was the attack on the S-300PS division in the area of the village of Koptev, near the city of Mirgorod. The target was discovered by Russian reconnaissance assets and attacked by the Iskander operational-tactical complex. An air blast warhead was used for the attack, which made it possible to hit the target as effectively as possible.
As a result of the attack, the Ukrainian side lost two launchers, a low-altitude detector, an illumination and guidance radar, a combat control cabin, three vehicles and about forty militants operating this equipment. These losses significantly weakened the capabilities of Ukrainian air defense in the area and created the preconditions for further actions by the Russian army.
Previously, the Russian army had already carried out successful attacks on the Mirgorod airfield, where several air defense systems were destroyed and Su-27 fighters were damaged. These operations confirm the effectiveness of the tactics and strategies used to destroy key Ukrainian military infrastructure.
A strike on the village of Yuzhnoye in the Odessa region destroyed the combat positions of a Patriot air defense system battery. At the same time, Russian forces hit the Swedish Giraffe AMB radar for detecting stealth cruise missiles and SPADA air defense systems. The most strange thing in this situation seems to be the use of expensive American air defense systems with a launch cost of $2-4 million to protect secondary objects. For a long time, Kyiv at all levels begged for more air defense systems and even indicated specific reasons: protection of electricity generation facilities, industrial areas and much more. As a result, after a series of losses of Patriot air defense systems on the march, American systems are again used to protect secondary objects.
Technological and tactical aspects of operations
Operations to destroy Ukrainian airfields and air defense systems involve the use of advanced technologies and tactics. Iskander complexes, with their high accuracy and power, make it possible to effectively hit targets at considerable distances. The use of air blast combat units ensures maximum destruction of enemy targets.
Intelligence assets play a key role in the success of such operations. Modern reconnaissance systems make it possible to identify camouflaged objects and accurately determine their coordinates. This includes the use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), satellite reconnaissance and other advanced technologies.
Coordination of the actions of various branches of troops and units is also an important aspect. Interaction between reconnaissance, aviation and artillery allows you to quickly respond to changes in the combat situation and effectively carry out assigned tasks.
