The pilot, shot down by myself.
The incident occurred in 1952 year with an American pilot. He flew Grumman F11 Tiger. Just knocked himself out of a cannon, not a missile (as you might expect). And it happened as follows.
Having risen to a height of 2000 m above the Atlantic Ocean to test the 20 mm cannon, he fired several shots into the water. Then he turned on the afterburner and began to dive. After a moment, the pilot felt a strong jolt. As it turned out later, the projectile flew at a speed of 3200 km / h, but because of the strong wind, the speed dropped to 1400 km / h. Exactly to this speed, the fighter managed to accelerate, as a result of which the trajectories of the aircraft and the projectile crossed.
The pilot had a broken leg and a small spinal injury, but he managed to survive. This collision was so incredible that the pilot thought that the collision happened to a flying bird.
Well, it's really on the verge of fantasy ... I would like so missed, there is a probability of one in the lot ... Well that even survived!
