Work related to the design and development of the PrecisionHawk Lancaster multipurpose unmanned aerial vehicle began by Canadian engineers in early 2008, and initially the drone had a very limited scope of its application - it was used to cultivate agricultural land and to monitor the growth of plants and crops. Nevertheless, in the development process, specialists from the PrecisionHawk company decided to optimize the design of the drone in order to increase its performance and expand the scope of application, therefore, by the time the release began, which was launched in 2010, the PrecisionHawk Lancaster UAV was also adapted to carry out patrol work, carry out search operations, carry out work related to aerial photography of the area - this fact led to the high popularity of the drone, the production of which continues to this day.

Multipurpose unmanned aerial vehicle can be controlled by direct control of the operator and in a fully autonomous mode, in which, by installing GPS points, the device independently produces all the necessary work.
