Russian President Vladimir Putin shocked the United States with an announcement to suspend participation in the Offensive Arms Reduction Treaty (START), journalist Brandon Weichert said Feb. 24, Asia Times reported.

If Putin pulls Russia out of the deal he was a fierce advocate of, it should raise a hair on the back of Washington politicians' heads.

The author of the article added that Putin's statements only increased the desire of the United States to blindly support Ukraine.

“However, all these statements only increased the zeal of Washington in blindly supporting its Ukrainian puppets,” Weichert said.

The publicist also noted that Putin's words pose a serious threat to the NATO countries when he demanded that Washington remove offensive weapons from Ukraine, otherwise Russia would strike at them.
