Retro helicopters

Someone collects coins, someone - marine chronometers, and the Sultan of Brunei Hassanal Bolkiah - cars. President V.V. It seems to me that Putin is going to collect RETRO HELICOPTERS. Judge for yourself: for 20 years of his reign in Russia, not a single new model of helicopter has been released, and he himself demonstratively flies on the RETRO Mi-8, although he could have flown a faster, safer, and more comfortable coaxial Ka-32 helicopter for a long time -ten.

And the court KB MVZ, instead of working according to its responsibilities on modern helicopter models, is essentially engaged in tuning outdated helicopters. Not even tuning, but some kind of yard handicraft,

by hanging barrels of fuel on the sides of the fuselage, which increases the already large drag of the helicopter, which contributes to excessive fuel consumption in flight.

And here is how the fuel tanks are mounted on Kamov helicopters.

But regarding modern helicopters from the cost center, they can object to me: the Mi-38 is the newest, modern!

Unfortunately, this helicopter is also from the Soviet past and with the beginning of its operation it was already over 30 years late, during this time it managed to become outdated, only it does not really go into production until now:

“The start of serial production [24] of the Mi-38 helicopter in Kazan, at the Kazan Helicopter Plant, was planned for 2015; at the end of 2014, active preparations were under way for production, the fuselage of the first serial Mi-38 was laid. In August 2015, at MAKS-2015, a contract was signed with the UEC for the supply of 2019 TV50-7V engines by 117 (for 25 vehicles - two engines per unit). However, at the beginning of 2017, the serial production of helicopters has not yet begun.

The certificate for the typical design of the Mi-38 medium transport helicopter was issued by the Federal Air Transport Agency on December 30, 2015. It is expected that in 2017 the helicopter will be certified in the passenger version, and in the future, modifications for search and rescue operations and offshore operations will be created and certified.

On January 10, 2018, it was announced the launch of serial production of the Mi-38 helicopter at the Kazan Helicopter Plant.

On December 2, 2019, it was announced that the first copy of the Mi-38T was transferred to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, and on December 31, the second machine was delivered. In total, the order provides for the construction of 15 helicopters ”(Wikipedia).

At the same time, the government media give him the highest score in the world helicopter industry in advance, although he has not yet shown himself in business:

“Mi-38T is the best of all middle class helicopters in the world” (zen.yandex.ru ›).

But everything is learned in comparison, and since at the cost center this helicopter is the most modern and “the best of all in the world”, then we can compare it with the high-speed classmate Ka-92, which, with funding, could already be in the series, but the Kremlin rulers put an end to this project even at the model at the HeliRussia exhibition 2008. How promising and realistic the Ka-92 project is can be judged by the fake Mi-X1 project, the layout of which was drawn and made then by Ch. the designer of the KB MVZ N.S. Pavlenko specifically in order to deprive the Kamov Design Bureau of finances for its development, which was actually implemented by the government!

The Mi-X1 is a "project" of the classical scheme and was positioned as a high-speed helicopter with Vmax = 520 km / h, when in advance all specialists, up to the cadet of the flight school, know that immediately after a speed of 400 km / h due to the speed difference between the flow and the incoming flow left and right sides of the main rotor control to neutralize the right progressive roll of the helicopter is not enough, and then "do not cry mom!"

But let's move on to comparing the Ka-92 and Mi-38, the engines of which are supposed to be the same TV7-117V with a fuel consumption of ~ 900 kg / h.

"At the same time, the Ka-92, which has a takeoff weight of 16 tons, will be able to take on board 30 passengers and transport them to a distance of up to 1400 km." (Sergey Mikheev: by helicopter with a rigid rotor - to airplane speeds). As you know, S.V. Mikheev does not quarrel with words.

Mi-38

Cruising speed, km / h -270 (russianhelicopters.aero ›)

Flight range with additional fuel tanks and cargo weighing 2700kg -1200 km (russianhelicopters.aero/catalog/mi-38).

Empty helicopter weight = 9200 kg

So let's estimate: how true is the advertisement "and with a cargo weighing 2700 kg -1200 km", for which we first determine the weight of the helicopter with fuel required for a flight of 1200 km.

1. Add the weight of the crew (3 members) with onboard equipment to the weight of the empty vehicle:

9200kg + 300kg = 9500kg.

2. Flight time at 1200 km with a cruising speed of 270 km / h and + half-hour reserve according to the flight manual in total = 5 hours and fuel will be required = 4500 kg, which we summarize with the weight of an empty helicopter + crew:

3kg + 9500kg = 4500kg - the weight of the helicopter with fuel.

The maximum permissible weight of the Mi-38 = 15600 kg, which means the payload will be:

15600kg -14000kg. = 1600kg. It turns out that in reality the Mi-38 is at a distance of 1200 km. is able to transport only 2700kg instead of advertising "1600kg", while Ka-92 will carry 3000kg for this distance!

By what means? First, max. takeoff weight of the Ka-92 is 400kg. more. But the main benefit is the Ka-92's high speed when it is at 1200 km. instead of 4,5 hours it will fit into 3 hours, i.e. 1,5 hours less, which translates to savings in fuel (gain in payload) = 1350kg! And what's more: the customer will pay for such a flight not for 4,5 hours on the Mi-38, but only for 3 hours on the Ka-92!

The flight range of a helicopter = 1200 km is understood as follows:

"According to Sergei Mikheev, Ka-92 from 30 oilmen-shift workers on board could, for example, flying from Murmansk fly to oil platforms in the area of the Shtokman field, the remote on 635 km, at a cost of only a half-hour flight (cruising 420 speed km / h). At the same time, if the weather does not allow for the landing on the platform, the helicopter was able to return home at the airfield without refueling "(faster and farther," Kamov "is Ka-92 project).

In this case, the flight range will be: 635 km x 2 = 1270 km.

And this video: a sedative "pill" for those interested in new helicopters, but who are not aware of liberal eyewash. KB "Kamov" has been destroyed, which means that the Ka-102 will not appear in 2020, just as there will be none next year. We can only assume that real work will begin on this helicopter after the re-election of the President. Yes, so that I'm wrong !!!

In our time, this heavy helicopter should open helicopter parades! But since Russia “does not have” the right to be the leading helicopter power, instead of the Ka-92 and Ka-102, we are presented with another “modernization” of the Mi-8, as the last word in technology:

July 23, 2020. "Powerful weapon": what will the new Mi-8AMTSh-VN landing helicopter be capable of "(top photo).

July 27, 2020. “Flight tests of a promising attack transport helicopter Mi-8AMTSh-VN have begun.

And the special forces just need not tailed Mi-8s, but compact and maneuverable helicopters of the Ka-32-10AG type, because they, together with the special forces on board, will have to maneuver both near the ground in cramped conditions and in the highlands, when from helicopters increased capabilities will be required not only in maneuverability, but also in increased power-to-weight ratio. Moreover, landing on the Ka-32-10 - landing through the rear ladder will be convenient and quick, but difficult on the Mi-8 and Mi-38 because of the tail rotor!

But how does the financier A. Boginsky and “General Taburetkin” know all this, who now run the helicopter industry. In all likelihood, the President is experiencing an acute "shortage" of helicopter specialists, especially the military, and therefore put people from the "street" on the main helicopter posts. And so that the GENIAL helicopter designer Sergey Viktorovich Mikheev no longer interferes with the spread of helicopter-building mold from artificial stagnation in the development of modern helicopters, he was subordinated to the mediocre general designer of the holding N.S. Pavlenko, placing both design bureaus in the same building. But S.V. Mikheev did not give up and for the competition for combat helicopters for our combat pilots he presented a project of a coaxial helicopter with a speed of more than 600 km / h, and again - real, which our sworn American friends never dreamed of.

And the “won” in the “competition”, of course, was a pensioner from the USSR of the classical scheme, hiding behind a false excuse: “The military preferred”, although in fact, since the appearance of the Ka-50, the military prefer coaxial helicopters to classic helicopters. This is understandable: they are more compact, more maneuverable with a much higher power-to-weight ratio, and most importantly, they are safer and easier to control due to the lack of thrust from the coaxial helicopters. screw and corresponding rolls! Moreover, the combat Ka-50 and Ka-52 have ejection seats to rescue the pilots, which is not available on more than one Mi helicopter.

Coaxial helicopters are not blown away by gusty winds, as was the case with the Mi-8, for example, in Chechnya. "MOSCOW, March 7 - RIA Novosti ..." The helicopter descended to disembark the border guards. When it hovered two meters from the ground, there was a sharp gust of wind. The helicopter was clouded, two border guards managed to jump. 7 people remained in the helicopter when it was already off the cliff height of 150 meters fell into the abyss, "- wrote Kadyrov in Telegram."

And so that S.V. Mikheev no longer cursed, so the President directed the unbendable A. Serdyukov to finish off the Kamov design bureau, who had previously undergone the appropriate training when visiting the Ryazan Airborne Force School with the rank of Defense Minister:

“The Minister of Defense began his visit to the training center with a multi-storey mat

30 September 2010 at 16: 10 Russian Defense Minister Anatoly Serdyukov visited the Seltsy Training Center at the Ryazan Airborne School (now a branch of the Frunze Military Academy), Russian Line reports.

They were met by the head of the Ryazan School, the Hero of Russia, the Colonel Andrei Krasov and the deputy guard. Colonel Igor Volkov, head of the school for the rear of the guard, as well as an officer of the military counterintelligence of the FSB of Russia. The commander of the Airborne Forces, the Hero of Russia, Lieutenant-General V. Shamanov was forbidden by the Minister of Defense to participate in a visit to the training center of the Airborne School.

The minister got out of the helicopter already "inflated" and immediately began to cover the head of the school with obscene language. Anatoly Eduardovich repeatedly called the Hero of Russia "fucking ... m" (it is inappropriate to quote other words of profanity here, they also sounded). Trying to humiliate his subordinate more painfully, Mr. Serdyukov finally explained that the reason for his anger was the wooden temple of Elijah the Prophet built on the territory of the training center.

The construction of the landing church is carried out solely on the money of sponsors from among the veterans of the Airborne Forces and local residents, as well as funds from the Ryazan diocese, but the minister was not interested.

“Not a penny has been spent on the church,” the Russian officers steadfastly answered him. “The temple is needed by family members of officers and hundreds of soldiers and cadets, since the closest one is 15 kilometers away on the other bank of the Oka, and there is no bridge” (Visit of Defense Minister Serdyukov to Ryazan ... / LiveJournal tverdyi-znak /.).

This, excuse the expression, the Minister of Defense is not worth a finger of the honored colonel, the hero of Russia A. Krasov, as well as his accompanying officers, but his violent upbringing has earned the right to finish off KB "Kamov". And with the destruction of "Kamov", our helicopter industry as a whole was virtually destroyed, taking into account the fact that the KB MVZ ceased its existence long ago, confining itself to the Mi-26 helicopter (1980)! The holding is trying to pretend that the helicopter industry in Russia is alive: in the near future, it is planned to release a light coaxial helicopter VRT500.

In fact, this is a copy of the Ka-115, which was supposed to take off back in the early 2000s, but "there was not enough" money and only now they are planning to launch it into series, but under a different flag, and most importantly - with an American accent "VRT500 "Instead of the Ka-115.

Russian Helicopters Holding is preparing to launch production of two new helicopters (VRT500 and Mi-172A2), which will be assembled at the Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant. To start working on new products, the company is recruiting new workers and engineering specialists. "

But you have to think of the same thing: first, reduce the work of the plant for the production of coaxial helicopters in Kumertau to almost ZERO, and then throw money to train new personnel !? So not in a businesslike way, valuable personnel and money can be disposed of only in modern Russia, but in the case of poor-quality design study of future helicopters, they will find excuses in the lack of money !?

Vitaly Belyaev, especially for Avia.pro

Why is there a demand for "retro" helicopters in the world?

By the way, the American President flies on a Sea King helicopter, a model of a godforsaken year of release, and no one worries.

Author. Have you ever been in the passenger compartment of the Ka-32, suggesting it to the President. The article is not good and lobbying for Kamov. What is good about the Ka-32, what about the Mi-8MTV1, etc.

Anatoly, I propose to the President not the Ka-32, but the Ka-32-10, whose cabin is commensurate with the Mi-8. The Mi-8MTV1 and Ka-32-10AG differ primarily in flight safety in favor of the Ka-32-10AG and speed, again in favor of the Ka-32-10AG. Teach materiel!

Vitaly, how can you talk about the safety of a helicopter that hasn't made a single flight?

The Ka-32 has a very small cargo compartment due to the huge gearbox and fuel tanks in the bottom. We are expanding the interior of the mythical 32-10AG, but what to do with the fuel tanks? It turns out that you will have to greatly increase the size of the airframe, and this is a correspondingly greater empty weight, greater drag and all the wonderful paper characteristics fly into tartars

ZY and more about the materiel. At one of the Helirash, a flight safety specialist from the State Research Institute of Civil Aviation N.D. Osipov. Cited statistics on the operation of helicopters in the Russian Federation since 1993. He brought up the parameter "helicopter-type raid per fatal wound". And how sad it is for us, but the Mi-8 had 240 thousand hours, and the Ka-32 had only 16 thousand hours.
So provide data, and do not declare unfounded.

"Kamovets", your Americans thought that the Ka-50 lacks electronics as much as it weighs before its full artificial intelligence; Presumably, from the same ceiling they scored thousands of hours for each Mi-8 and Ka-32 crash? All these are exaggerated numbers.
Read: “Accidents of helicopters Ka-32. Chronology "(November 14, 2014). "TASS-DOSSIER / Valery Korneev /: Over the 29 years of operation of Ka-32 helicopters, less than two dozen accidents have occurred with them, resulting in the death of people." Due to the design of the Ka-32, you will find no more than two there, which cannot be said about the Mi helicopters due to tail rotor failures in flight with a subsequent disaster both in the air and when the speed is canceled at the moment it touches the ground.

As for the fuel tanks on the Ka-32-10, you are a Kamovets, so tell us:
where S.V. Mikheev moved them? And I think that in the same place as the Ka-40 and the Ka-92!
"The main areas of modernization:
1. Increasing the capacity up to 26 people and increasing the comfort of the cabin.
2. Replacement of TV3-117VM engines with VK2500.
3. Increase in carrying capacity up to 5500 kg inside the cab and up to 7000 kg on the external sling.
4. Installation of a new complex of on-board equipment KBO-226AG for instrument flights over non-orientated terrain or the sea with landing on offshore platforms or ships in the SMU with a meteorological minimum: 30 x 300 m.
5. Installation of additional external fuel tanks to increase the flight range up to 1200 km. "

> your Americans thought that the Ka-50 lacks electronics as much as it weighs before its full artificial intelligence

I do not comment on nonsense

> How to assume from the same ceiling they scored thousands of hours for each crash of the Mi-8 and Ka-32?

Osipov is the head of the flight safety department of the State Research Institute of Civil Aviation, all information on the operation of civil aviation of the Russian Federation comes to his department. He processes this information and often speaks with it on Helirash. His speech is listened to by specialists from both design bureaus and airlines. No one had any complaints against him

> All these are exaggerated figures.

You can't answer the numbers - call them exaggerated. That's your whole level Vitaly

> Over the 29 years of operation of Ka-32 helicopters, less than two dozen accidents have occurred with them, resulting in the death of people. " Due to the design of the Ka-32, you will find no more than two

AND? Then what? If you thought about the numbers that I gave, the main thing there is a helicopter-type raid. You can, of course, produce a new type of helicopter, about 10 pieces, but not fly. Generally. Then it will be the safest type of helicopter.
The Ka-32 fleet flies much less than the Mi-8 fleet, and at the same time, its average flight time for a fatal wound is much worse.

> what can not be said about the Mi helicopters due to tail rotor failures in flight with a subsequent disaster both in the air and when the speed is canceled at the moment it touches the “ground”.

Of course, I understand that you write this in every article, but that didn't make it true. And the Mi-8 has catastrophes and accidents due to the human factor in the main.

> As for the fuel tanks on the Ka-32-10, you are a Kamovets, so tell us:
where S.V. Mikheev moved them?

He did not move them anywhere, tk. Ka-32-10 is a helicopter project invented on the Internet. You distribute a fake picture of the Ka-32-10AG, a specialist will immediately understand with just one glance that it is a fake (just look at the engines)

> “Main directions of modernization:
1. Increased capacity to 26 people and increase cabin comfort.
2. Replacement of TV3-117VM engines with VK2500.
3. Increasing the duty to 5500 kg inside the cabin and to 7000 kg on external sling.
4. Installing a new set of on-board CCD-226AG equipment to perform instrument flight over bezorientirnoy terrain or sea landing on offshore platforms and offshore vessels in the meteorological conditions at SMU: 30 300 to m.
5. Installation of additional external fuel tanks to increase the flight range up to 1200 km. "

These are the wishes of Gazprom, which in the realities of the Ka-32 cannot be realized

Dear Milevets, who is hiding behind the nickname "Kamovets", of the 20-year accidents I indicated, there are not even two, but only one case due to the fault of the Ka-32: a gearbox breakdown, and the rest are all due to engine failure, which is equal degree applies to the Mi-8 and due to weather conditions. which has nothing to do with the Ka-32. at the same time, all incidents go to Osipov's collection indiscriminately.
But when a car is wrecked due to the presence of a tail rotor, regardless of whether it is a failure in flight or is caught on an obstacle during landing, this is already the fault of the helicopter design and there is no need to "stomp"!
And one more thing: if you had financed the Ka-32-10AG project, it would have been in the series for a long time and flew!

Vitaly, that's your whole level. Look for some conspiracies and for some reason they called me a milian.

> But when a car is wrecked due to the presence of a tail rotor, regardless of whether it is a flight refusal or caught on an obstacle during landing, this is already the fault of the helicopter design and there is no need to "stomp with your feet"

Very funny. Your logic is iron - "If a helicopter with a tail rotor crashed for any reason, it is only because it is a helicopter with a tail rotor."

> And one more thing: finance the Ka-32-10AG project - it would have been in the series and flew long ago!

If fantasies are funded, they will remain fantasies.

> at the same time, all incidents go to Osipov's collection indiscriminately.

What's the difference for what reason a person died in a helicopter crash? This is absolutely a side to him. And a living person, boarding a helicopter, there is a big difference with what probability he can die.

I would like to be a Kamovite - BUT and "grandma's galoshes" have nothing to do with it!
> "And a living person, getting into a helicopter, there is a big difference with what probability he can die."
--- Of course so, only a specialist in the analysis can clearly separate the emergency due to the fault of the design, or for other reasons. As for the tail rotor, it kills not only in the air, but also on the ground. In Yeniseisk, the pilot from the Mi-1 was in prison, because after the mail was handed over and the engine was started, the man did not notice the working min. screw and got under it.
And here's an official statement from a similar tragedy: “In Peru, a 20-year-old student died during a visit by Prime Minister Pedro Cateriano to one of the country's cities. The girl Lina Zapata Feijo broke through to the helicopter in order to convey to the head of government a letter asking to release her brother from prison, who was unjustly convicted. However, when she passed the helicopter, she did not notice the tail rotor working. The blade cut off the girl's head in an instant ”(09.08.2015. Tvzvezda.ru/news/vstrane).
> "And one more thing: finance the Ka-32-10AG project - it would have been in the series for a long time and flew! If fantasies are financed, they will remain fantasies."
--- These are fantasies for the designers of the cost center, who have been building the Mi-80 since the 38s of the last century, but still cannot really start production; and Kamov's projects are being torpedoed openly, without any conspiracies. Your Mi-24 has already become high-speed - we have arrived! Back in the USSR, the government recognized him as obsolete, and you resurrected him from the "ashes"! Well done, there is nowhere to go further, and even here you pretend to be offended!
