Improved NASA profiles outperform the much more common NACA profiles in terms of lift. A higher lift is usually associated with a higher pitch moment, but this is not the case for MS profiles.

Studies have made it possible to determine the best thickness of the wing, at which the required volume of fuel tanks, low weight of the structure, high cruising characteristics of low values ​​of operating direct costs can be achieved. When calculating the cost of 1 liter of fuel was taken for 0,4 dollar. With a low cost of fuel, the profile thickness did not particularly affect the PER, but with better fuel quality, the PER value increases gradually with increasing wing thickness. For the SF-340 aircraft, we found the optimal wing with a profile with a small frontal resistance. The shape of the wing was optimized, taking into account the peculiarities of operation - a typical intermediate flight usually has a pair of intermediate landings.

When calculating the wing dimensions, two main requirements are taken into account: landing with maximum landing weight and climb with one engine running from the strip, which is located at an altitude of 1525 meters above sea level, under + 30 degrees Celsius.


The fuselage consists of three main sections: the bow (with the crew cabin), central, tail (with the luggage compartment). The fuselage has a cross-sectional shape. The tail and nasal section has a semi-monocoque conventional structure. The central section consists of the upper, lower and two side panels. These panels include the casing to which the reinforcing stringers and linings are attached. In addition, the side panels are provided with glued window frames.
