Is it possible in our time to create an airplane on our own? Amateur aviators from Tver, Yuri Gulakov, Evgeny Ignatiev and Alexander Abramov were able to do this by building a single-seat aircraft, which later received the name “Argo 02”. The device turned out to be good, it participated in republican competitions and won first place in the regional competition of amateur aircraft, which was held in Yaroslavl. Such success of “Argo” was ensured, first of all, by using traditional, time-tested technologies for designing wooden airplanes with the modern miscalculation of the aerodynamic characteristics of this class of machines.

Perhaps it was one of the main advantages of the aircraft: its manufacturing does not need plastic and composite materials, synthetic fabrics and high-hire. All that is needed - a pine board, canvas, a little plywood and enamel.

 

Design

 

"Argo-02» - this ultra-light training aircraft, presented nizkoplanom classical cantilever structures made of wood, which has a cantilever tailplane. The device is equipped with a spring landing gear with tail wheel. As the power plant is used two-cylinder two-stroke engine with air cooling type RMZ-640, which by means of a V-belt gear launches dvuhlopasny monoblock wooden propeller to rotate.

 

In the cockpit there aerobatic team of instruments and devices-indicators, which reflect the work of the engine. Fuselage is wooden, has raskosnofermennuyu structure spars are made of wooden slats (cross section 18h18 mm). On top of the fuselage behind the cockpit is easy gargrot, the basis of which are wooden stringers and aperture, as well as the dural lining thickness 0,5 mm.

Chassis
