Honda HA-420 HondaJet

 

HA-420 HondaJet - a twin-engine jet aircraft Business Class.

In December 2003 Japanese automobile company Honda has presented its first aircraft HA420 Honda Jet (first flight - 03 December 2003), which is intended for the serial production and sales. It is the first aircraft in Japan as a whole (including engines) manufactured by the same company without any government support.

Honda developed the HF118 bypass turbojet engine for the aircraft and tested it for a year, installing it on the left pylon of the CitationJet aircraft. Engines on the Honda Jet are mounted on pylons OVER the wing, like the German VFW614. This arrangement makes it possible to reduce the noise level that is directed downward (noise on the ground, especially during landing and takeoff).

Flaps are installed at 30 percent of the wingspan, which deflect 15,7 degrees during takeoff and 50 degrees during landing. The plumage and wing are aluminum. T-shaped plumage. The company claims that the end result is a 10 percent reduction in fuselage drag compared to conventional fuselages of the same size. The length of the cab is 4,6 m, the height is only 1,5 m. A pressurized cabin, at an altitude of 13 km, maintains a pressure that corresponds to a pressure of 2,4 km above sea level (standard atmosphere, maximum boost - 0,61 atm). At the front end of the wing, the anti-icing system is powered by warm air from the engines. The cockpit windows are electrically heated. 

But there is no data on protection of plumage and air inlets from icing. Three-column chassis, hydraulically retracted. At the bow stand the remote control system, which deviates to the right and left by 50 degrees when steered and at 10 degrees during takeoff. The fuselage and wing in static tests were loaded only up to 80 percent of design loads, and the behavior at 100 percent of the loads was modeled with computers. As a result, the glider, which passed the static tests, was used to build an airplane prototype. Only plumage is tested under full load. Honda plans to sell in the US Hondajet as a reactive low-cost, light business-class aircraft.
