wide-body aircraft

Wide-body aircraft - a passenger aircraft in which there are two aisles between the passenger seats. The fuselage diameter in this type of aircraft is 5-6 meters, due to which a row of 6-10 seats can be placed across the cabin. For example, narrow-body aircraft have a fuselage diameter of 3-4 m, the maximum number of seats arranged in one row is 6.

Passenger capacity of these machines can reach up to 853 people (Airbus A380). The largest wide-body aircraft have a length of more than 70 meters.

The first serial passenger widebody aircraft became Boeing 747-100.

The appearance of this type of airliners in 60-70 years. due to the rapid pace of growth in air traffic congestion and air lines, especially in the areas of airports.

Through the use of a wider fuselage was able to dramatically increase passenger capacity (load) and to reduce the fuel consumption ratio per unit of transport capacity.
