The development of a powerful light-engine Socata TB-21 Trinidad aircraft was required in order for the aircraft to actually carry up to 5 people on its board, without any additional conditions regarding the maximum take-off weight. The appearance of the aircraft was almost unchanged, however, the French aircraft builders decided to install as a power plant a turbocharged aircraft engine that allows an aircraft to quickly develop maximum speed without overheating, fly at an altitude of up to 4,5 thousand meters, and fly at distances of up to 1,5 thousand Kilometers.

In Socata TB-21 Trinidad, as well as in its sister model, it has a retractable chassis that allows you to reduce drag in the implementation of air travel, increase agility, and manageability, and increase speed.

Despite the apparent identity of the previous model, the aircraft Socata TB-21 Trinidad is not suitable as such for transportation of goods, but this does not affect the model's popularity among owners who needed a powerful, fast and easy in terms of management and maintenance of the aircraft. Some problems of maintenance caused a turbocharged engine, but on the whole it does not affect the content of the aircraft flow.

Due to the improvement of the design and layout of an aircraft cabin, air travel, even at distances of up to 1,5 thousand kilometers is not tedious, but generally the aircraft involved at least of extended distances.

The power plant of the aircraft is a Lycoming TIO540 B1AD single-engine piston engine (250 hp) with a turbocharging option, which provides more efficient flight performance compared to the conventional engine used in the previous model.

A few years later was introduced and improved version - Socata TB-21 Trinidad GT, received electronically controlled turbocharger system, more modern means of avionics and other changes, significantly affected the factors and characteristics of the aircraft.

Due to the fact that, compared with the previous model cost Socata TB-21 Trinidad increased slightly, the number of orders it was not big enough, and it is currently known about 19 in-service aircraft of this model, mainly purchased by private owners.
