V1 (TAKEOFF DECISION SPEED)

V1 (decision speed at take-off), the rate at which allowed the engine failure while taking off can be safely continued or a plane can be brought to a full stop.

V2 (TAKEOFF SAFETY SPEED),

V2 (SAFE TAKEOFF SPEED AT) after takeoff flight speed during climb maneuver with one failed engine, which guarantees an adequate gradient and power supply stability.

VACUUM

Vacuo negative pressure or subatmospheric pressure, measured in inches or millimeters of mercury.

Evaporation of the process of transformation from liquid to vapor.

VENT

Vents, low dimensional hole or restrictor component of acceptance for pressure equalization component to the surrounding pressure.

VENT SCOOP

AIR INTAKE shovels TYPE, input / output air in the lower part of the wing skin to ventilate the fuel tank and feeding excess air pressure inside the fuel tank.

VENTURI

Ventura (PIPE), part of the air nozzle with a reduced flow to measure air flow. (Principle: by increasing the air velocity pressure is reduced).

VERTICAL AXIS

The vertical axis, vertical axis passing through the top of the plane to the bottom. Movement of the aircraft to the left and right is controlled by a rudder.

VERTICAL NAVIGATION

Vertical navigation functions that provide guidance signals to the aircraft control during the climb or descent.

VERTICAL SPEED

Vertical speed, rate of change of altitude.

VERTICAL STABILIZER

VERTICAL STABILIZER, vertical surface on the tail for stabilization / steering around the vertical axis.

VERTICAL TRACK

VERTICAL RATE, the profile of climb or descent.

VERY HIGH FREQUENCY

Very high frequency, Frequency range between 30 and 300 MHz.

VHF OMNI-DIRECTIONAL RANGE

Omnirange very high frequencies, a navigation system that informs the direction of the aircraft from the ground station V0R and its deviation from the course to / from the station.

VMO

VMO, the maximum airspeed for the design, in which the aircraft can be controlled.

VOLATILE

Viscosity in a liquid to resist the mutual displacement of neighboring layers.

VOLATILE MEMORY

Non-permanent memory in a computer memory that contains lost when turned off the electric power.

VOLT

VOLT, the unit of electromotive force.

VHF, see.-VERY HIGH FREQUENCY.

VNAV, sm.-VERTICAL NAVIGATION.

VOR, SEE - VHF OMNI-DIRECTIONAL RANGE VOR, sm.-VHF OMNI-DIRECTIONAL RANGE.

VORTAC, A combined VOR and TACAN station.

VORTAC, combined station VOR and TACAN.

VORTEX CONTROL DEVICE

CONTROL twist small airfoil gondola to improve the air flow between the nacelle and the leading edge of the wing.

VR

VR (separation speed nose landing gear), the rate at which begins otrvyv nose wheel to achieve the speed V2 on 35 feet height above the runway surface.

VORTEX GENERATOR

The swirl generator, small metal airfoils, located on the wings and fuselage for preventing the separation of the flow through the surface, creating local turbulence (turbulence).

VREF

VREV, calculated at the rate of 50 feet height under normal landing. This speed is typically 1,3 stall speed in the landing configuration.

VTK, sm.-VERTICAL TRACK.
