This was stated by the American publicist Seymour Hersh, who specializes in investigative journalism. 

“They tell me that the game will be like this - “this is NATO, we support NATO in offensive operations against the Russians”, which will not deceive the world. We are at war with the Russians,” the journalist said. 

At the same time, Hersh recalled the defeat of the Nazis near Stalingrad by Soviet troops, noting that the United States was clearly not ready for such a conflict. 

“We are probably just deceiving ourselves about what is happening there, about what the results will be,” Hersh added, expressing his conviction that Russia has not yet even involved its “main forces” in the special operation.
