Building on the successful vysokoplana 1930-ies the first paramilitary planes "Riliant» (Reliant - arrogant) were actually civilian aircraft, the US Air Force called to military service at the beginning of the war. These aircraft were designated UC-81. A small number of aircraft "Riliant" was acquired by the US Navy and Coast Guard to the outbreak of hostilities, the aircraft received the designation respectively XR3Q-1 and RQ-1.

The biggest customer of the aircraft "Riliant" were the Royal Navy, which by agreement of the Lend-Lease aircraft purchased 500 "Riliant» I (US Air Force gave them the designation AT-19) for the Air Force fleet. The first copies arrived in Britain in the summer of 1943 years.

After that, the plane was used for the preparation of radio operators, navigators and aerial training, and perform general purpose flights.
