Sud-Aviation Alouette III

Sud-Aviation Alouette III (French Lark) - French multipurpose helicopter.

Designed by SudAviation (renamed Aérospatiale, then in- EurocopterFrance) based multipurpose helicopter AlouetteII. The first sample was tested in 1959, then the helicopter was made in several different versions. The helicopter has a single-rotor design, tail rotor and tricycle landing gear. By 1984 1453 92 copies sold in the country.

• in India, under the name "Chetak" was produced by the companies "HindustanAeronauticsLtd." in Bangalore (200 copies); 
• in Romania — manufactured by ICABrasov under the name IAR316 in 1971 — 1987 (130 copies); 
• in Switzerland, by F + WEmmen (60 copies).
