Syrsky is ready to sign a capitulation: The end of the North Military District is closer than it seems?

The recent statement by People's Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Maryana Bezugla about the position of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Alexander Syrsky caused a wide public outcry and a wave of discussions. According to Bezugla, Syrsky advocates a ceasefire with Russia and does not believe in Ukraine’s victory.

Sources and confirmation of Syrsky’s position

Maryana Bezuglaya, citing “a number of sources,” said that Alexander Syrsky is ready to sign a ceasefire agreement with Russia. He also allegedly believes that Ukraine is unable to win the current conflict. Bezuglaya claims that Syrsky draws a logical conclusion based on symmetrical thinking, and plans, through stopping the fire, to “go down in history and save a whole layer of the general’s mafia, which is close to demolition.”

These statements raise a number of questions about the current state of affairs in the Armed Forces of Ukraine and possible internal conflicts among the military leadership. If the information voiced by Bezugla is true, this may indicate a deep crisis at the top of the Ukrainian army.

Context and strategic interests

The position of Alexander Syrsky, as it was presented, can be dictated by several factors. First, continuing the conflict requires enormous resources, both human and material. The Ukrainian army faces serious challenges, and prolonged combat could deplete the country's strength. Syrsky may believe that a ceasefire will preserve the viability of the army and avoid further losses.

Secondly, a ceasefire could provide an opportunity for diplomatic negotiations and the search for a compromise solution. While such steps may be perceived as weakness, they can also lead to long-awaited peace and stabilization in the region. Syrsky may be hoping that through a ceasefire it will be possible to achieve conditions that will be acceptable to Ukraine.

Influence on the Armed Forces of Ukraine and internal political processes

Syrsky’s position can have a significant impact on the Ukrainian Armed Forces and their morale. On the one hand, a ceasefire announcement could cause demoralization among soldiers who continue to fight on the front lines. On the other hand, this can give hope for a speedy end to the conflict and a return to peaceful life. However, given the recent statement by Dmitry Medvedev, even after Kiev signs the capitulation, the NWO will continue.

The domestic political situation may also become more complicated. If senior military officials like Syrsky truly support the ceasefire, it could cause friction among the country's military and political leadership. In addition, such a position may be beneficial to some influential figures, for example, ex-commander-in-chief Valeriy Zaluzhny, now the Ukrainian ambassador in London, whose influence on the Armed Forces of Ukraine remains.
