A helicopter superpower? Was!

A helicopter superpower? Was!

(To the article of the "patriot" dated July 3: "Russian-made helicopters are a reason to be proud of the country!").

Excerpt from the article: “Today I want to tell you about another high-tech product that not every country can produce. Our country, which is contemptuously called a "gas station country" by various "clowns-peas" who think of themselves as experts, produces this product in very large quantities.

It's about helicopters. And in the helicopter industry, I want to notice right away, Russia is not just an ordinary manufacturer of individual helicopter models, but a real helicopter-building superpower: one of two countries in the world that produces a full line of civil and military helicopters. "

Commendable! But I am confused by something else: why is SUPERDERZHAVA to this day throwing various equipment and fire engines with bulldozers with ruinous Mi-26 helicopters, designed 40 years ago, despite the fact that "The number of employees (according to the article) of the holding is about 40 thousand people"?

Mi-26. LTH:… weight of cargo (useful) max. - 20000 kg, ... maximum flight speed - 295 km / h, cruising flight speed - 255 km / h. "

Its price was initially 4 times more than the Mi-6 helicopter, while the load was only 2 times more; maximum carrying capacity of the Mi-6 = 12t., cruising speed - 250 km / h.

And time takes its toll, changing the living conditions on our planet, in particular, natural disasters have become more frequent and more and more often you have to turn to super-heavy helicopters for help.

So in 2006 there was “the strongest earthquake in the Olyutorsky region of the Koryak Autonomous Okrug for the entire period of historical and instrumental observations. Previously, this zone was considered practically aseismic. " The Mi-26 was used for rescue and recovery.

Or. GTRK Amur: “In December 2018, the hill collapsed into the Bureya River, which feeds the Bureyskaya HPP, and blocked its channel. As a result, the inflow of water into the reservoir of the power plant has decreased. And again, work for the Mi-26.

In connection with climate warming, we are developing the Arctic. “A new military town will appear on Kotelny Island in the Arctic. Assistance in construction will be provided by the air group of military transport helicopters Mi-26 ”(22.3.2014). “Various equipment, a fire engine, aggregates, and fueling vehicles had to be transported to the Boiler House by air.”

Polar region.

“This northern region contains at least 20-25% of all promising world reserves of oil and gas, therefore, in recent years, large-scale construction of facilities and infrastructure for military, oil and gas and transport purposes is underway in the Arctic and the Far North.

A wide range of solutions is being developed for the development of the Arctic: airplanes and helicopters on ski chassis, communications equipment, lighting equipment and icebreakers. Therefore, in many respects, the Arctic is a test region for pilot testing the prospects for technologies - from clothing to complex mechanical devices. That is why the State Commission for the Development of the Arctic has decided to develop a special Arctic GOST.

For example, helicopters. The range of their flight is limited to 500 km in one direction, while there are also more distant fields, for example, Shtokmanovskoye ("GATE OF THE ARCTIC": SPECIAL EQUIPMENT, EQUIPMENT AND SOLUTIONS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE POLAR REGION. 26.12.2016).

Precisely because "The range of their flight is limited to 500 km in one direction," in the above cases, the Mi-26 helicopter instead of advertising 20t. transported goods weighing up to 13 tons, and the cost of his flight hour for 2013 was = 600.000 rubles / hour.

At present, to raise its productivity, i.e. the cost of a flight hour can be reduced only by increasing the cruising speed. At one time, the great designer M.L. Miles increased the speed of the Mi-6 helicopter due to two factors: due to the perfection of the rotor blades, which is now impossible due to the installation of wings on the helicopter. Today's Mi-26 super helicopter flies at the same speed as yesterday's Mi-6.

Unfortunately, the installation of only wings on the Mi-26 helicopter will hardly change anything, and indeed no modernization will help it, since it is the pinnacle of perfection of a classic helicopter!

It is quite possible to build a transverse helicopter on its base, but of the Ka-22 type with an increase in cruising speed up to 350-370 km / h. So the Ka-22 rotorcraft of the same purpose with the Mi-6 helicopter and with the same engines was 1,5 tons. lighter, and the speed is much higher.

The average load of the Mi-6 is considered = 8t, which means that the Ka-22 would have it = 9,5t. It is from this point of view that we must today consider the possible design of a transverse helicopter.

And that's not all: one version of the project may be similar to the B-12, i.e. motors-reducer-rotor - ready-made from Mi-26; and another option is to put one D-136 engine on the wings, which will be a real replacement for the Mi-26 in terms of carrying capacity!

To replace the Mi-6, there has long been a ready-made project of the Ka-102 high-speed helicopter.

It is the high-speed Ka-102 and Ka-92 helicopters that are required today primarily for long-distance flights not only in the Arctic, but also in the Arctic, Siberia, and the Far East. Let me remind you that the flight range of the Ka-92 with the main tanks is up to 1400 km, while the Mi-38 helicopter, which is just starting its serial production, is 820 km. (Wikipedia). Engines for both TV7-117, but at a distance of 1200 km.

Ka-92 will carry cargo = 3t., And Mi-38 = 1800kg. (see Retro helicopters from 2020-08-27).

The Mi-26 from the Ukrainka airfield transported a bulldozer to the area of the Bureya reservoir (S = 300 km) weighing as much as 20 tons, but in fact in two calls: on the first flight it delivered fuel for itself on the way back, and on the second flight delivered the bulldozer, after which it refueled with this fuel and - in flight! By the way, the cost of his flight hour for 2013 was 600.000 rubles. And the Mi-12 would have delivered the same bulldozer in one flight! The economic benefits are obvious, but with much less hassle!

"When Mil said that Russia was specially made for helicopters, he meant our open spaces, hard-to-reach points where you can fly only by helicopter, but, unfortunately, this has not been implemented even now," argues the associate professor of the Helicopter Design Department of the Moscow Aviation Institute (MAI) Boris Artamonov.

We have a lot of work for helicopters, and in the Arctic, size does not matter: the super-heavy Mi-12M would carry fire engines in bulk to the same Kotelny, as well as bulldozers with equipment.

And for the transportation of goods from the ship to the coast of the Arctic Ocean, there is a Ka-32 helicopter on the external sling, for which the Ka-32-10AG project has long been ready to replace, which will lift and transport cargo by a ton more than the Mi-171A2 helicopter. Moreover, he is not afraid of the gusty wind!

And lighter helicopters are also in demand there:

“The day before, at about 8 pm Moscow time, the Ministry of Health asked the Defense Ministry to help with the urgent evacuation of the scientist from Kotelny Island to the Yakut village. The Defense Minister gave the go-ahead. Four hours later, the Mi-22.08.2018 of the Russian Aerospace Forces with two medics flew from Tiksi to Kotelny. " (A sick Arctic explorer was evacuated by helicopter to Yakutia on August XNUMX, XNUMX). And here it is clearly more profitable "Ansat", which is already produced at Kazan Helicopters.

With heavy trucks based on the Mi-26, and in addition to the necessarily Ka-102 and Ka-92, we will be a truly helicopter superpower. Until then, our admiration for the helicopters of the past.

Vitaly Belyae, specially for

The author, after so many years of the collapse of the country, you want you to have all the most, most. The country has retained production, scientific potential, development, although in the military field, but this is a matter of time

How many so many years? It seems that the country has already been recovering for 20 years - twice as long as the period of collapse. After the Second World War, the country recovered much faster and increased its economy several times in the shortest possible time, contrary to all the forecasts of our "allies". And then, it causes, to put it mildly, bewilderment that the helicopter industry in our country is headed by persons with a dubious past and not related to this industry. Therefore, you can not even dream about the most-most - that which is not to be lost completely.

The Mi-26 has two modern engines, the B-12 has four obsolete ones. Calculate the efficiency yourself.

Dear, Maxim, actually on the Mi-26 there are Ukrainian ones, that in terms of development, that in terms of production, engines, and therefore in the current situation, it is not the last thing to choose those machines that with the least number of foreign products, as for the rest, then you were told above that we are not talking about the Ka-22 itself, but its possible heir, plus, as a nikruti, in a number of characteristics, rotary-winged aircraft have a number of advantages, including speed and range.

TVZ engines were developed in Leningrad, and produced in Ukraine by Motorsich. Now we make it ourselves.

Maxim, the article does not suggest resurrecting B-12. But it is high time to build a transverse helicopter with the same modern engines.
For a better understanding of what has been said, I will give the weight data of the Mi-6 tail rotor with gearboxes (intermediate with tail) and a shaft: in general, the weight is ~ 1200 kg, not counting the tail boom itself, the weight of which is measured in a couple of tons, at least! The transverse scheme loses two tail beams at once, which already increases the useful load of the helicopter of the transverse scheme, and additional power from the main rotor is added to the main rotor. screws 10% each, which also adds a useful load in tons!

I wonder how much weight the consoles will have

Whose will you be, uncle? Every gopher in the field is an agronomist, every man in his soul is a designer. There is also a proverb about bags, well, those that need to be rolled over.

Necessarily need to slander groan. If the machines of the USSR are good in operation, why not use them.?
The state corporation was not created just like that. New developments are underway. In short - no need to lie !!!!!!

What a manner: to speak about technique in general phrases. Arkady, please tell me: for the economy of the State, than the Mi-26 is better than the B-12 helicopter, when it is 2 times more expensive and 5 tons. carries less? B-12 is also from the USSR!
And further. Two projects: Mi-171A2 and Ka-32-10AG were created for the same tasks. The Ka-32-10AG is safer, more carrying capacity and faster, but the series was launched: Mi-1712A2. Wouldn't you say: what was your "state corporation" guided by when launching the worst case in the series? And where does the USSR?
By the way, about the lies. Cost center designer under the nickname "V. Nikolaev: I would like to clarify the following. Well, firstly, the Kamovtsy were a little deceitful, speaking about the deep modernization of the Ka-32A-11 in the face of the Ka-32-10 ... And if the first Ka-32AM ( since 2001 - Ka-32-10) can still be called a modernization with a stretch, then the Ka-32-10AG (2007.) is a completely new machine. Naturally, with the corresponding development and production costs "(12.10.2010/92/XNUMX Victor Nikolaev writes: aviaport. ru / conferences. Topic: Ka-XNUMX helicopter on MVL).
And the only new thing in it (the car) is the fuselage and equipment, which is improved over time for any technique. But the most expensive: the main rotor, engines (the same as the Mi-171A2) and the gearbox - from the Ka-32!

Vitaly, can you have at least something new? And that is the same for the tenth time.

And also dear "Kamovets" (I am writing in quotes), you probably amused yourself with the hope that we will generally forget about the Ka-92 and Ka-102. Time has passed since 2008 Oh-Oh -Yo lope, and I continue to write about them!
Even more:
"The first two are multipurpose helicopters, which, in addition to the main rotor (the Ka-92 has a coaxial one), received a pushing propeller. This is very similar, conceptually, to the American S-97. With the difference that the latter exists in reality. And has been flying for a long time. "(Superfast helicopters: will Russia take the lead? September 3, 2018).
Well, a very "subtle" hint: "why are we RUSSIANS so backward that we lick the Ka-92 scheme from the American S-97. But we can't build it"? Famously! In reality, it is exactly the opposite: they licked the S-97 off our Ka-92!

"Kamovets" - do not write articles on such nonsense and I will have no reason to write something like that in response! How much can you praise yourself for releasing Soviet UTILITY?
