The issue of deep modernization of the Mi-14 almost solved

Under the shortcomings that remain with Mi-14 and after the upgrade, it would be logical to start with the project «0».

  • 1. Former Deputy General Director Valery KHP Kartashov believes that "attention should be paid to issues of stability:" In the excitement of more than three points, if the screw is turned off, the car overturned. Such cases were in the North. "

  • 2. "As the capacity of the machine is not allowed to simultaneously carry detection means and necessary for the destruction of the submarine weapon, Mi-14 worked in pairs: one was looking for the submarine, the second of their attack."

  • 3. When the helicopter taking off from the water had a penchant for burying the nose of the helicopter into the water.

Hardly fit for something better as a naval helicopter, the helicopter except the transverse scheme for marine expanses of large scale two rotors does not matter, but the wings will provide reliable lateral stability. And not only!

And so in order: in modern liners, the wings of the console are bent up, at the sea rotorcraft, they should be bent down and at the ends should be fixed the lateral stability floats. Above - bearing screws from the serial Mi-38 helicopter, which will receive rotation from one D-136 engine (the future Russian PD-12В engine is only in the minds of designers) installed on the fuselage and which in flight will have the same speed under any flight conditions . The sea variant can allow to have only one engine instead of two engines! Why? Yes, because when performing the entire flight under a rotorcraft - amphibian will always have a water surface, which in the land variant is equivalent to the landing strip and in case of engine failure the device will land on the water without any problems. Again, this is possible even when this engine is one for the entire helicopter. But in this case there is a more reliable way out: to install on tail stabilizers on a turboprop with pulling screws, with the help of which the rotary-wing will be able to continue flying in the autogyro mode. It should also be taken into account that the crew, with a small power reserve of the turboprop thruster of tail stabilizers, has the ability to use an air cushion like an WIG, and the air cushion will have a positive effect not only on the rotors, but also on the wings, which will generally facilitate the work of the pulling screws .

Moreover, if the main engine will give up the tail and one theater, the rotorcraft - amphibious mode boats will be able to sail with another tail and nose of the theater as opposed to single-rotor helicopter will not dig, and vice versa - to rise. It is for this reason "taxi speed Mi-14 limited to 20k / hr., And the rotorcraft will be able to steer at a speed speedboat, and this in turn will not wait for help after an emergency landing, but in the mode of boats to sail confidently to the base.

I think that Kazan Helicopter designers that previously produced helicopter - amphibian rotorcraft proposed version with one main engine and two theater on tail stabilizers would be on the shoulder. And designers of cost centers already be a lot of trouble: it's time to think about replacing obsolete Mi-26, A long-standing battle replacement helicopter landing Mi-24To continue work on the advertised speed helicopter PSV.

Vitalii Belyaev.

The transverse scheme proved itself very well both on the Ka-22 rotorcraft and on the V-12 helicopter, and there was no "wild imagination". Learn materiel!

The author likes to cross pattern. Who has not found themselves in the implementation of serial helicopters. Maybe because it is not as effective as it would like the author?
And in general, thoughts about "rotorcraft - amphibious in boat mode ..." betray the author's violent fantasy, divorced from reality. A la Bartini's projects.
