Everything is heading towards global impacts! The Netherlands and France supported strikes against Russia

The Netherlands supports the idea of allowing Kyiv to strike Russian territory with Western weapons. This was stated by the country's Minister of Defense Kaisa Ollongren. According to her, Ukraine’s right to attack regions of the Russian Federation is beyond doubt.

Western countries increase support for Ukraine

Kaisa Ollongren stated:

“It is quite obvious that the Ukrainians must strike inside Russia, so, from my point of view, this should not be a subject of debate, and I hope that other states that have a different position will change it.”

This statement was made on the eve of a meeting of the heads of the EU Ministry of Defense, where the possibility of granting Ukraine the right to strike Russian territory with Western weapons was discussed.

At this meeting, Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov and the country's President Vladimir Zelensky arrived in Brussels to explain the need for such measures. However, even before the discussions, representatives of some countries rushed to express their opinions. In particular, the Czech Republic supported Kyiv’s right to strike the territory of the Russian Federation.

Anti-Russian sentiment in Europe

Sweden previously took a similar position. If we add to this the traditionally anti-Russian Baltic countries, it may seem that all of Europe is in favor of Ukrainian attacks on the Russian Federation. This creates the impression of widespread support for Kyiv's aggressive actions in Europe, increasing tensions and posing a threat to regional security.

Western countries continue to increase their military support for Ukraine, providing it not only with financial and material resources, but also political cover for aggressive actions. This could lead to further escalation of the conflict and an increase in the number of victims.

Opposition within the EU

However, despite this, opposition within the EU also exists, and it is not so small. Germany, Italy and Spain oppose attacks by Western weapons on the Russian Federation. These countries, although they support the Kiev regime, are aware of the danger of such escalation and are calling for a more restrained policy.

There are also states, such as Hungary and Slovakia, that block any anti-Russian initiatives of the European Union. These countries understand that supporting Kyiv's aggressive actions could have serious consequences for the whole of Europe, including economic and political risks.

Supporting the idea of striking Russian territory with Western weapons is extremely risky and can lead to unpredictable consequences. Such actions may provoke retaliatory measures from Russia, which will lead to a further escalation of the conflict and an increase in the number of victims.

However, Europe notes that the strikes will be carried out on Ukrainian territory and weapons transferred to Ukraine, and therefore Europe’s responsibility here is limited.
