The restoration of destroyed housing and compensation to affected residents of border areas of the Kursk region will require over 100 billion rubles, said the head of the region, Alexey Smirnov. He noted that it will take time to provide such a sum and emphasized that local authorities are already submitting lists of houses damaged as a result of shelling and other destructive actions to federal agencies.
Smirnov also reported that additional support measures for residents who were forced to leave their homes are being considered, including compensation for renting temporary housing. After a meeting with the Russian Minister of Construction and the Deputy Minister of Finance, Smirnov emphasized that 14,5 billion rubles have already been allocated from the federal budget for issuing housing certificates, thanks to which about 2,5 thousand families affected in the border area have received assistance.
The head of the region noted that the restoration of destroyed territories remains a priority task and regional authorities are focused on providing maximum possible support to all those who suffered as a result of military actions.
