On November 29, South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff reported that 11 military aircraft from China and Russia had entered the country's air defense identification zone. Between 9:35 a.m. and 13:53 p.m., five Chinese and six Russian aircraft entered the airspace over the eastern and southern waters of the Korean Peninsula without violating sovereign airspace.
The South Korean military detected the approach of the objects in advance and immediately sent fighter jets to prevent possible threats and control the situation. The Joint Staff reported that tactical measures were taken to ensure security and prevent incidents.
The Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ) is distinct from national airspace, but its violation is considered a potential threat.
Beijing and Moscow have not yet commented on Seoul's statements on this matter, while South Korea has not yet named the type of aircraft.
