On the night of January 24, the territory of the Ryazan Oil Refinery Company (ORC), located in the Southern Industrial Zone, was attacked by 12 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the aircraft type. The attack began around midnight and lasted for an hour and a half. As a result of the incident, a 53-year-old security guard of the enterprise was injured, and a fire started on the territory of the plant. This was reported by Baza.
According to sources, several drones were stopped by a cable fence installed on the plant's territory. However, some drones reached their targets, which caused a fire. All emergency services, including fire brigades and doctors, immediately left for the scene.
The employee of the enterprise received serious injuries: doctors diagnosed him with a fractured tibia and a shrapnel wound. The victim was taken to a local hospital, where he received the necessary medical care. His condition is currently assessed as stable.
The fire that broke out as a result of the attack was quickly localized. According to emergency services, the fire was quickly brought under control, which prevented it from spreading to neighboring facilities. However, the extent of the damage to the plant has yet to be assessed.
