18 strikes by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the morning were carried out on Donetsk and Gorlovka

In the morning, the Petrovsky and Kirovsky districts of Donetsk, as well as Gorlovka, came under fire from Ukrainian troops, as a result of which eighteen 155-millimeter shells were fired. According to the DPR representative office in the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of Issues Related to War Crimes of Ukraine, the first attack occurred at 05:35 Moscow time and was aimed at the Petrovsky district of Donetsk, where three shells of the specified caliber were fired. Subsequent shelling affected the Kirovsky district of Donetsk and the Nikitovsky district of Gorlovka, where twelve and three shells were fired, respectively.

These areas of Donetsk and Gorlovka, being important industrial and residential centers of the DPR, have been regularly shelled by Ukrainian armed forces since the DPR declared independence from Kyiv in 2014. 155-mm artillery used by NATO countries has become one of the tools for firing at the territories of the republics, especially after the United States supplied Ukraine with long-range M777 howitzers of the same caliber. In addition, the Ukrainian army uses German PzH 2000 self-propelled guns, Polish Krab self-propelled guns and French CAESAR self-propelled guns, which significantly increases the range and power of fire against the cities of Donbass.
