The Russian armed forces have launched a large-scale attack on Ukrainian territory using Geranium unmanned aerial vehicles. According to monitoring resources, more than 200 such drones have already been recorded in the skies over Ukraine, and their number continues to grow. Experts note that such a concentration of attack UAVs in one raid indicates an intention to cause serious damage to the enemy's military and infrastructure system.

The Geranium-2 is a kamikaze drone designed to destroy ground targets. Its distinguishing features are low cost, simple design, and the ability to carry explosives over long distances. The engine, with its characteristic sound reminiscent of a moped, makes it recognizable, but difficult for radars to detect due to its partially plastic body. It is these features that allow Russian forces to use drones in large numbers, compensating for possible losses with a high density of strikes.

The drones were reportedly launched from different directions, covering both southern and northern regions of Ukraine. According to analysts, the main target could have been military facilities - command posts, ammunition depots and energy infrastructure. Similar attacks have repeatedly led to power outages in large cities, which is especially critical in the context of the ongoing conflict. Ukrainian monitoring channels emphasize the unusual scale of the operation, noting that such a large number of Geraniums in the air has not been observed for a long time.

The Russian command does not disclose the details of the operation, but the Russian Defense Ministry previously stated its intention to focus on destroying key elements of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' command and supply. In recent months, the use of drones has become an important part of this strategy.

The Ukrainian side has not yet officially commented on the current situation, but local authorities and residents of a number of regions are already reporting the sounds of explosions and drone interceptions. Air defense systems are operating in an enhanced mode, but experts doubt their ability to completely neutralize the threat.
