Today, Rosaviatsiya announced the introduction of temporary restrictions on the operation of the Kazan International Airport. According to the agency, the airport has temporarily stopped accepting and sending flights. It is reported that such measures are due to security concerns and passengers are advised to follow updates regarding the airport's operation and move around the city taking into account possible delays.

Although the official reason has not yet been named, there is a version that these restrictions may be related to a possible attack from Ukraine using unmanned aerial vehicles. This incident has not yet received official confirmation from the Russian authorities, but the Ukrainian Armed Forces have previously carried out such attacks.

Kazan Airport is one of the largest aviation hubs in the Volga region and its temporary suspension of operations could lead to significant delays and cancellations of flights both within Russia and abroad.
