Literally the day before, the airport of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk stopped functioning due to a heavy snowfall, which paralyzed the take-offs and landings at the airport, and the runway was covered by a large layer of snow. Despite this, the airport began its operation in normal mode and can already receive aircraft.

In the next few days, it is assumed that the airport's operation will not be disrupted due to possible weather, but as the airport's management stated, they are ready for poor meteorological conditions.
