Airbus will increase the scale of production of aircraft A320

02 March 2014 Airbus decided to increase the rate of aircraft production in the 2nd quarter of 2014 Type A320: from the current monthly 42 to 46 units. The transition to new production rates will be gradual. It is planned to reach production of 1 aircraft per month in the 2014st quarter of 44.

“Given the strong demand for A320s and the readiness of our deliveries, we have decided to increase our production rate in Q2 2014 to 46 per month,” said Tom Williams, CEO of Airbus Operations Programs. "Now the order book of aircraft of this family is more than 4200. The increase in production capacity will enable us to meet the constantly growing demand for this type of aircraft."

Over the past five years, Airbus has increased its production of A320 aircraft gradually. Thus, the company produced 2010 aircraft at the end of 36, 38 - in August 2011, 40 - in the first quarter of 2012, 42 monthly - since the end of 2012. 

Since the release of the first A320, Airbus has sold more than 10200 aircraft of this family to 400 operators and customers around the world, confirming the company's status as the world's most successful manufacturer of commercial narrow-body airliners.
