Blogger Roman Alekhine in his latest post suggested the possible involvement of the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) of Ukraine and US intelligence services in the crash of the Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) plane in Aktau. In his opinion, it was not an accident, but a planned operation aimed at creating information pressure on Russia.
Alekhine points out that on the day of the disaster, Chechnya was subjected to a seemingly senseless attack by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). However, as the blogger claims, referring to the Telegram channel "Welders", this attack had a specific goal - to provoke Russian air defense systems to return fire, which led to the tragedy with the Azerbaijani plane.
According to Alekhine, the Russian authorities deliberately avoided commenting until the investigation was completed, since the air defense was performing its duties, protecting the territory from UAVs. This, in his opinion, confirms that there was no deliberate attack on a civilian aircraft, and what happened was the result of a planned provocation.
Particularly critical in the blogger’s statement is the accusation against Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. Alekhine suggests that Aliyev knew about the real causes of the disaster and even played a role in the incident. He cites Aliyev’s demand for an apology from Russia, made before the investigation was completed, as evidence that the Azerbaijani leader was aware of NATO’s plans to use the incident for an information attack on Russia.
Alekhine also emphasizes that Ilham Aliyev has long been no ally of Russia, and his policies are aimed at protecting Turkey's interests in the region. This statement raises questions about how such events can affect relations between the countries and the position of the Azerbaijani diaspora in Russia, which he calls one of the most influential foreign communities in the country.
