American GLSDBs turned out to be vulnerable to Russian electronic warfare systems

According to information provided by Reuters, Boeing will need several months to eliminate the vulnerability of the GLSDB (Ground-Launched Small Diameter Bomb) system to Russian electronic warfare (EW). This system, which is a precision weapon used to destroy ground targets, has demonstrated insufficient resistance to electronic warfare.

According to US Deputy Secretary of Defense William LaPlante, despite the GLSDB's ability to overcome some obstacles, the system has proven to be less resilient than other similar developments, such as GMLRS (Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System) and JDAM-ER (Joint Direct Attack Munition - Extended Range ).

LaPlante noted that in addition to vulnerability to electronic warfare, there are other issues that need to be addressed to improve the effectiveness and reliability of the GLSDB system. These issues may include technical deficiencies related to navigation, jamming resistance, and other aspects that affect the system's combat performance.
