Even modern American F-22 fighters cannot effectively track the movement of Russian military aircraft, according to US Air Force pilots taking part in the fight against Islamic State terrorists. This is primarily due to the fact that the pilots of Russian aircraft turn off the means to track their movements, and in case of close encounter, especially at night, American fighters simply do not have optical systems that allow target identification.
