The American plane intercepted MiG-29 fighters off the coast of Libya

The US Air Force intercepted the Russian MiG-29 fighter off the coast of Libya.

The U.S. Air Force was able to undetected to intercept the Russian MiG-29 fighter, flying without identification marks, off the coast of Libya. For unknown reasons, the crew of the combat vehicle did not even notice the American military presence and continued to fly, which, according to the U.S. Air Force command, ended at one of the Libyan National Army airbases, in particular, it is allegedly talking about Al Jufra airbase.

“As noted, the footage shows a Russian-made MiG-29 without identification marks, which was allegedly sent by the Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS) to Libya to support Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar and the Libyan National Army (LNA) led by him. According to the African Command of the US Armed Forces, the video was shot by American pilots in May 2020. At the end of May, the US military said that Russia allegedly transferred MiG-29 and Su-35 fighters to Libya, as well as Su-24 bombers, which are part of its VKS. It was noted that at first the planes from Russia were transferred to Syria, where they were repainted to hide their Russian origin ”- сообщает Lenta.ru publication.

It should be noted that Russia categorically denies the transfer of its combat aircraft to Libya, however, previously published images do indicate the fact that a large number of fighters and bombers have appeared in Libya, although due to the lack of identification marks, there is no evidence that these combat aircraft belong or belonged to the Russian Aerospace Forces.

It should be noted that even if the transfer of MiG-29 combat aircraft to Libya took place, to date their use has not been noticed, although the army of Field Marshal Haftar lost a number of battles against the forces of the Government of National Unity and Turkish militants.
