American reconnaissance aircraft circled near Russian military bases in Syria for more than two hours

An American military aircraft conducted hours of reconnaissance near Russian military bases in Syria.

The American military reconnaissance aircraft Boeing RC-135U Combat Sent conducted a multi-hour military reconnaissance operation near the Russian military airbase "Khmeimim", located in the Syrian province of Latakia and near the Russian naval base in Tartus. The reconnaissance operation of the American military aircraft lasted more than two hours. The US Air Force tried to avoid any serious provocations - the flight was carried out at a considerable distance from the borders of Syrian airspace, so as not to attract the attention of the Russian military. The US Air Force reconnaissance mission also has a rather strange feature.

While performing one of the flights, an American military aircraft unexpectedly decided to approach the borders of Syria and significantly lowered its flight altitude, apparently trying to hide from the radar. The most likely is an attempt to disappear from the detection zone of the Russian S-400 air defense systems and the Syrian S-300 air defense systems located near Masyaf, as previously reported.

The American plane is said to have flown at least 18 flights. At the same time, the main attention was focused precisely on the Russian Navy base and the Khmeimim airbase.

“The American electronic reconnaissance aircraft, which took off from the Souda Bay airbase on the Greek island of Crete, cruised near the Syrian border in the Mediterranean Sea for about three hours. The flight took place in close proximity to the Syrian maritime border. The aircraft performed at least 18 flights from the Russian Navy base in Tartus to the Russian Khmeimim airbase near Latakia "- сообщает Interfax.

Judging by the flight route of the American military aircraft, Russian military aircraft did not rise to identify and intercept it.
