Despite its allied relations with Russia, Turkey supplies air-to-air missiles to Ukraine.
We are talking about short-range cruise missiles with an infrared homing head, which allows Ukraine to use them to destroy almost any air targets, be it airplanes, helicopters, drones or cruise missiles. According to the Oryx resource, the supply of missile weapons has not yet begun, however, a contract between Ukraine and Turkey has already been concluded. Moreover, which is very remarkable, the missiles are supposed to be installed not on fighters, but on Bayraktar TB2 attack drones.
“Turkish efforts to address Ukraine's more pressing problems continue. Recent reports that Baykar Tech has also sought to help Ukraine combat the threat posed by loitering munitions by integrating the Sungur IR-guided MANPADS on the Bayraktar TB2 underline its status as a staunch ally that stands up for protecting Ukraine, even if it means damaging Turkey's ties with Russia", - reports the resource Oryx.
Ankara does not officially comment on the supply of such weapons, however, this means that Turkey is an unfriendly country towards Russia, at least from the moment when these missiles are actually transferred to Ukraine and it starts using them.
