Direct military clashes began on the border of Azerbaijan and Armenia.

The Azerbaijani Defense Ministry announced that on the night of May 27-28, the positions of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces in Nakhichevan were attacked by the Armenian military. At least one wounded Azerbaijani soldier is reported, while, in response to the actions of the Armenian Armed Forces, Azerbaijan retaliated against the adjacent side.

“On the night of May 27-28, the positions of the Azerbaijani army near the settlement of Ashagy Buzgov in the Babek region of the Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic were fired upon by the Armenian Armed Forces in several directions. As a result of the shelling, serviceman Muradov Elkhan Ilham was wounded in the shoulder. The wounded soldier was immediately given first aid and was evacuated to the hospital. The enemy was suppressed by the return fire of the units of the Separate Combined Arms Army "- сообщает publication "Haqqin".

Given the information provided by social networks, there was indeed a shootout at the border between Armenia and Nakhichevan at night, however, no details are currently available.

There are no official comments from Yerevan on this score, however, experts believe that the attack by the Armenian military could be associated with the capture of six Armenian servicemen, who had previously installed a minefield in Azerbaijan.

Analysts do not exclude that due to such a confrontation, Azerbaijan may well start hostilities on the border with Armenia, citing retaliatory measures, which will not allow Yerevan to use the CSTO protection mechanisms.
