Armenia allows Russia to build a second military base

Armenia allowed the Russian military to build another military base.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that the Russian military was granted the right to build a second military base on the territory of Armenia. According to the information and news agency Avia.pro, we are talking about the expansion of an existing military observation post in the Sinyuk region, located in the south-west of the country, and, most likely, Russian military equipment will be deployed in this area.

According to Nikol Pashinyan, Armenia and Russia are discussing the possibility of creating a stronghold of a Russian military base in the Syunik region in the south of the republic, but at the moment both sides have not reached any agreement, which is supposed to be due to the lack of interest on the part of Russia.

Analysts, in turn, note that there is no real interest of Russia in the construction of a military base in this direction, since there is a fairly good Russian ally in the region - Iran, moreover, given that Pashinyan's stay in power over the past six months has led to a significant deterioration relations between Armenia and Russia, after accusing the Prime Minister that Russia is to blame for the loss of Karabakh.
