Armenia has opened a case into the murder of Chechen woman Aishat Baimuradova.

The Investigative Committee of Armenia has initiated criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 155 of the Republic's Criminal Code (premeditated murder) against two citizens suspected of the death of 23-year-old Chechen native Ayshat Baimuradova. The suspects have been questioned, their apartment has been searched, and a forensic examination of the victim's body and a genetic fingerprint test have been ordered. Both defendants have been remanded in custody in absentia, and an international search has been issued.

Baimuradova's body was discovered on October 19 in a rented apartment in Yerevan. She disappeared on October 15, having fled Chechnya due to domestic violence, according to her relatives. According to the Telegram channel "Ostorozhno Novosti," Karina Iminova and 30-year-old Said-Khamzat Baisarov were present in the apartment on the day of the murder. They are presumed to have fled to Russia.

Baysarov had previously been charged in Moscow with financing the Islamic State (banned in Russia), but the Cheryomushkinsky Court acquitted him in 2018. He has convictions for robbery and drunk driving. According to open sources, Iminova has no previous criminal record.
