The Russian air base in Syria was again attacked by militants.

The militants demonstrated another rejection of the agreement between Russia and Turkey on the situation in Idlib, attacking the first Russian military air base "Khmeimim" for the first time in several weeks. According to Syrian media, the attack was carried out using only one unmanned aerial vehicle, however, the reflection of the attack by the militants was quite unexpected.

“The air defense system repelled a drone attack in the area of ​​the Hmeimim air base in Latakia province. The incident occurred in Jeble; no further details are given. Terrorists who have settled in settlements between the provinces of Idlib and Latakia often try to attack Khmeimim and its environs using drones, despite the agreements reached on March 5 in Moscow ”- сообщает "RIA News".

According to Syrian and Arab media, the attack was not reflected by Russian, but by Syrian air defense systems, which raises a number of questions about the direction from which the militants attacked the Russian military airfield.

Among other things, experts pay attention to the fact that obviously terrorists could use a much larger number of unmanned aerial vehicles, however, due to the deployment of electronic warfare by the Russian and Syrian military, some unmanned aerial vehicles could fall in desert areas.

Experts position this incident as a direct disruption of the agreements between Moscow and Ankara, and, obviously, tomorrow the Russian military can begin to strike at the positions of terrorists.
