A joint operation by the Syrian Air Force and Russian Aerospace Forces in Idlib ended with the destruction of the headquarters of the extremist group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS, recognized as terrorist and banned in Russia). As reported by local radio Sham FM, dozens of militants were eliminated as a result of the strike, including one of the group's key commanders.
According to sources, the attack was carried out on precise intelligence data, which allowed the destruction of an important enemy coordination center. The air strikes came as a surprise to the militants, who were in the process of discussing further operations in the south of the province at the time of the attack.
Footage of the operation, which was obtained by journalists from the Avia.pro portal, shows powerful airstrikes that destroyed the headquarters and adjacent positions. As a result of the operation, the operational capabilities of HTS have been significantly weakened, which will allow Syrian government forces to continue their offensive in the region.
Experts note that such pinpoint strikes, carried out in close coordination with the Russian Aerospace Forces, are of strategic importance for suppressing extremist activity in Idlib. According to analysts, the liquidation of the headquarters will be a serious blow to the group, which has recently stepped up attacks on Syrian positions.
