The State Security Committee (KGB) of Belarus announced the introduction of a counter-terrorist operation (CTO) regime on the border with Ukraine. The intelligence service called on residents of border areas to remain calm and strictly follow the requirements of the security forces. This decision is due to the strengthening of security measures in the face of an increased threat against the backdrop of the tense situation in the region.
One of the possible reasons for the introduction of the CTO is considered to be the possible transfer of units of the Wagner PMC from the territory of Belarus to the Russian regions adjacent to Ukraine. Earlier, information appeared in specialized Telegram channels that PMC units located both in Russia and Belarus could be involved in events in the Kursk region.
In addition, it became known that in the border regions of Belarus, cases of transfer of information about the movements of military equipment, places of deployment of air defense systems and radar stations to the Ukrainian armed forces were recorded.
