Belarusian military "shoot down" drones with blank ammunition

The Belarusian military is learning to shoot down drones with blanks.

The Military Directorate of the Republic of Belarus has published a video in which military personnel are training to destroy unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The exercises were held as part of special events that were held on the basis of the 43rd missile and ammunition arsenal together with military technical support units.

Various means of destruction were used during the exercises, including the 23-mm ZU-23-2 anti-aircraft gun and the Kalashnikov assault rifle. Particular attention is drawn to the fact that in the video a soldier is firing at an UAV from a Kalashnikov assault rifle equipped with a blank firing attachment.

Note that a blank cartridge does not contain a bullet and, when fired, it cannot hit targets. Such cartridges are used, as a rule, during training shooting or in order to imitate the sound of a shot without the direct use of a weapon.

In this regard, the question arises of how exactly it is planned to "suppress and destroy the UAV" with automatic fire using blank cartridges. The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Belarus did not provide explanations on this topic.

This video caused discussions in professional military circles and among the public about possible methods of countering the threat from UAVs and about preparing Belarusian military personnel for them.
