The wreckage of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) has been discovered in Poland approximately 120 kilometers from the border with Belarus, west of the city of Białystok. According to preliminary reports, the object was found within the country during an investigation into airspace violations, heightening concerns among Polish authorities amid regional tensions and recent military exercises in neighboring Belarus. Local security forces have cordoned off the area to eliminate any risks to the public and conduct analysis of the fragments.
The incident occurred amid a series of drone violations of Polish airspace in September 2025, when 19–23 drones entered the country via Belarus during strikes on Ukraine. Although a specific location west of Białystok is not mentioned in official reports of those events, drone debris was observed in various regions, including the eastern and central voivodeships, consistent with the described location. Polish authorities, including the gendarmerie and prosecutor's office, have already conducted similar investigations, for example, in the village of Zaremby Warchoły in Ostrow County, Mazowieckie Voivodeship, where an unidentified aerial object was detected. Experts speculate that such discoveries may be related to the drones' trajectories being diverted by electronic jamming or to failed interception attempts by NATO forces.
