As of the morning of October 11, fierce battles continue in the Kursk direction after the start of the offensive operation of the Russian Armed Forces (RF Armed Forces). The shock of the first day of the Russian army's attack is gradually wearing off for the Ukrainian forces, and they are mobilizing reserves to stabilize the situation in this section of the front. The Ukrainian Armed Forces are trying to regain control over the lost positions by bringing in additional forces and resources. Such data is provided by Yuriy Podolyaka.
The Ukrainian side is actively throwing statements into the information field that they allegedly managed to roll back the situation. Some sources rushed to declare that Ukrainian troops are fleeing to the Sumy region. But this information is also not true: the enemy continues to put up serious resistance and strengthen its positions.
So far, it is impossible to speak of either a complete retreat of Ukrainian troops or significant successes on their part. The Ukrainian Armed Forces Command has indeed recovered from the initial blow and is attempting to counterattack, using reserves to strengthen its positions in areas where the Russian army has taken up new positions. However, at this stage, neither side has managed to achieve significant successes and intense clashes continue.
One of the key areas remains the Korenevo-Sudzha highway section, between the settlements of Zeleny Shlyakh and Sverdlikovo. It is extremely important for the Russian Armed Forces to hold the occupied positions and prevent Ukrainian troops from breaking out of the encirclement in the area of Lyubimovka and Tolstoy Lug. Ukrainian unblocking units are trying to break through to their encircled units, which is one of the main goals of the Ukrainian Armed Forces command in this area.
At the same time, the battles on the road leading from Zeleny Shlyakh to Malaya Loknya are of great importance. Here, active clashes continue in the Novoivanovka area, where the fate of the enemy's bridgehead north of the highway is being decided. There is a fierce struggle for control over this section, since both sides understand its strategic importance for the development of an offensive or counteroffensive.
In the area of Malaya Loknya, Ukrainian troops are putting up serious resistance and the intensity of fighting here is also increasing. The Ukrainian Armed Forces are trying to hold their positions, preventing Russian forces from advancing further in this direction.
